Equinox offer ADSL, SDSL Load Balancing & Leased Lines
Many businesses have already recognised the benefits of internet access but are still using traditional dial up services which tie up the telephone line. Businesses which have taken the plunge for Broadband services report increased sales, greater cost savings, better productivity, improved employee satisfaction and a healthier bottom line overall as a result. As well as doing all the things you can do with dialup internet more quickly and efficiently, Broadband opens up a world of new applications. Here are just a few of the things Equinox's customers are doing with Broadband with the help of Equinox:
Virtual Private Networks (VPN):Gone are the days it would cost thousands to connect two or more remote offices or sites together. With our three month minimum contract, even tempory offices can now be connected to head office at a speed that's fast and reliable as well as instant. Ideal for the construction Industry and other locations Broadband is not required long term. Connect to your office as if you we're actually in the building, this connection could be from anywhere on earth where a Broadband connection is available at both ends. Send plans, drawings, e-mail even voice calls along with other information from site to head office. Save IT costs in not having to have a file server at each location when only one is needed at the main office also cutting down on IT administration costs. With VPN in operation, all files are up to date and can be worked on at the same time without risk of loss due to theft of hardware failure at a remote site. The hardware to obtain this functionality costs as little as £200 plus installation fees which in many cases are £150-£200 depending on the location. VPNs enable more than one Broadband connected location to be connected together as though they were on a completely private network. The technology uses strong and seamless encryption technology to pass data between sites using the internet in a highly secure manner. Sounds expensive ? VPN technology is built into Windows XP and is available in ADSL routers costing less than £100. Many organisations have set up their own VPNs this way. Alternatively, complete solutions can be purchases ‘off the shelf’ with on going support. Uses include connecting a series of company premises together to share data or allowing staff to securely access company systems from home or while on the road. There is more information on VPN on our dedicated site at www.vpn-for-business.co.uk
Business Broadband:Equinox supply high quality Business Broadband solutions giving 24 hour a day 7 days a week access to the Internet for business. This allows for e-mail to be sent and received immediately. Large files can be sent and received without hassle, modem drop out and other issues surrounding dial-up access. With contention ratios of 50:1 and 20:1 available at speeds from 512Kbs to 2Mbs we have a package to suit any home based or small to medium sized office. We aim to connect you within 7 days and offer telephone support with out premium call rate charges. We can advise on security, networking, Internet sharing, Virtual Private Networks and remote access for tele-workers. If you're running a web-mail server, VPN or other specific services that require your office data to be located remotely from another site or worker you will need a STATIC IP address. We provide these for £3 a month on top of the Broadband rent.
Remote Working:It is rapidly becoming accepted that office workers no longer have to be at your main office to work these days. With a Business Broadband connection at the main office and a home Broadband package at home on the BT or Cable line your workers can now work at home. The advantages of this are endless, the main one being your employees are working in their own environment, where no child care is required saving them costs and also enjoying watching their children grow up whilst working. With just Broadband and a phone, your workers can work as though they were sat at their desk. We can also supply non-geographic phone numbers where all calls can be diverted to their home number thus meaning numbers are not employees specific and can also be changed to another at short notice in case of sickness, holidays or them leaving your organization. Calls can be then diverted to another employee or the main office to be dealt with. Why pay for car-parking for your employees when they can have their cars at home on the drive, why pay for office space when they can have a dedicated room at home and also save tax on heating and lighting as they are classed as home workers. Let others get stuck in traffic on the way to and from work, saving congestion charges, fuel and ultimately helping against pollution and global warming that's getting so much attention in the news. Video-conferencingHolding a web conference is easy using Broadband. You’ll need a webcam, speakers and a microphone, which can be purchased for less than £25 and are built in to many PCs and laptops. You will be able to see, hear and text chat with the other person. Applications like Netmeeting (part on the Windows operating system) also allow you to work together with most PC applications too - viewing pictures, drawings or writing a document together are particularly popular. There are no call charges as you’re just using the internet to exchange the data and that could be with someone anywhere in the world.
VoIPThis is a fairly new development where a Broadband connection can allow voice calls to be made over the Internet for FREE. Most of the telecoms companies are already using VoIP to route your calls to UK and International destinations. Why not use the same technology and enjoy a free calls to your colleagues and suppliers via the Internet.
Wireless HotspotsWireless hotspots allow anyone with a laptop or PDA (handheld computer) and a ‘Wi-Fi’ (wireless networking) card to connect to Broadband within about 50 metres of a wireless hotspot. Many new laptops come with Wi-Fi access built in or Wi-Fi cards can be bought for around £15-50 for machines that don’t. Hotspot access is charged rather like for a mobile phone with pre-pay or pay as you go options. Cafes, airports, hotel lobby’s and motorway service stations and other public venues are all popular locations for wireless hotpots. So if you spend a lot of time ‘on the road’ you can get Broadband at an increasing number of locations across the country. Equally, establishing a hotspot at your business - perhaps to attract customers - is increasingly easy and can be established for a few hundred pounds. Most PDA's and laptop's have Wi-Fi built in, you have probably seen the adverts for Intel's Centrino laptops and the 802.11 logo at service stations and McDonalds. We have a site dedicated to hotspot internet access. We believe more business people need to access the company data in a secure manner while on the road or holiday. We are offering £50 if you recommend a venue to install a hotspot which results in an order. More details at Public-Hotspots. Once connected to a Hotspot on your laptop or PDA you can then connect to your companies VPN to access e-mail data and the company network as though you were sat at your desk. Hotspots are now available at pubs, service stations, most McDonalds, railway and bus stations and many other public places including the private ones we are installing in hotels and public places. Virgin Trains have announced an Hotspot service on their new trains, along with BT proposing to have all their phone boxes Wi-Fi ready.
e-ProcurementMany of us buy or sell products and services on-line. However, an increasing trend, particularly from larger organisations, requires their suppliers to use ‘e-procurement’. This involves the electronic systems of the buying organisation generating ‘electronic orders’ which are automatically received, fulfilled and billed by the suppliers electronic systems. Generally, the whole process runs with the minimum of human intervention and paperwork reducing costs and increasing efficiency. It is also a fact that buying from Internet based companies provides faster deliveries as well as savings on prices compared to the high street companies.
