Roof Repair is not a Gamble on Long Island

I know my blog so far has talked A lot about gambling. What is funny that was never the intention.

So let me start by saying what is not a gamble.

Make that you get expert roof repair done by one of the qualified roofing contractors on Long Island before it’s too late.

If you not sure where to go, Roof Repair Long Island maybe a choice for you.

One thing I can tell you for sure is that we get a whole bunch of storms not only in the winter but also the summer.

If were not busy getting nor’easter’s at least once a month, then we are being battered by thunderstorms and Hurricanes during the summer and fall.

I don’t know if any of you folks have ever been out here on Long Island. This place is extremely beautiful. There are so many beautiful rivers and lakes everywhere.

Whether you go out to the north fork or the South Fork here in Suffolk County you will be dazzled by the beauty of the farms, and the sea wharfs, all of the vineyards and restaurants by the water.

But one thing Long Island definitely has a lot of and that’s trees. And we’re not talking your regular old sapling, we’re talking about huge gargantuan trees that have been here since the beginning of time itself. Take it from me, from someone who has lived here for a while.

Now they are extremely beautiful to look at they give great shade. if you’re surrounded by a ton of Pines, the smell that emanated is amazing.

You don’t look at them as a problem until News 12 Long Island alerts you of the upcoming nor’easter with gusts up to 70 mph is coming through your town.

Here in July is  when panic mode comes in and one of the things you think about is can your roof hold up. Did you, trying to save a few pennies, neglect necessary roof leak repair to prevent the elements from coming indoors.

I know what you’re saying, if trees is the only thing you need to worry about then all you need is a really good tree service company to trim branches that are near your house and remove any dangerous trees.

Boom, you don’t have to deal with roofing contractors and worry about roof replacement costs.

You are only partially correct. Now if you have seen some of these areas you will see right away that the tree per square foot ratio is ridiculous. You literally need to cut down Sherwood forest in order for this to happen. If you can afford to tint your windows, then you can afford roof leak repair.

But even if you lived in an area, such as the south shore of Long Island which does not have as much trees, you’re still dealing with 70 mile-per-hour wind gusts that are going to rip your old nasty shingles off your roof and it will definitely need leak repair at the minimum and replacement at it’s worst.

After a storm, is not the best time to look for a roofing contractor to get your roof repaired. You had better get used to the new sunroof that you have for at least a month.

If you have a flat or slate roof, start crying because you will be out of some serious bank when you get hold of that roofing company in a week or two.

Because that is how long it will probably take to get a qualified roofer to repair that leak due to that gaping hole in your roof.

Not don’t say I didn’t warn you. Potential roof replacement  is not something you want to deal with after a storm.

Just this winter we had three nor’easter’s, which is pretty light because we usually get at least five or six.

I can’t even count the amount of severe thunderstorms that occur during the summer and fall. Now we’ve been pretty lucky this year when it comes to hurricanes.

But just a few years ago we had one hurricane a year two year’s straight.

Hurricane Irene and her nasty sister Sandy tore L.l. Up. We look like Smurf town with all of the blue roofs.

I think you know what I mean. When the storm comes through and damages roofs that waterproof blue tarp is placed over the damage and held down by a bunch of one by two’s.

So now hopefully you have enough money to cover the roof replacement cost, because if you don’t,  you’re SOL.

Actually, let me correct that. With all the free government giveaways for the past 10 years, I am sure you can get your roof replaced on the government’s dime. Well really on the dime of all the people who actually pay taxes.

You will also probably need gutter repair. You know those things do not last doing a rough storm.

Even if you need a commercial roofing contractor, you’re probably not going to get one after a storm. So I hope your business is not in dire need of flat roof repair. You may need to buy a bunch of buckets as a temporary measure.

Flat roofs have to be the most difficult job even for the most experienced roofing company.

Just make sure that any roofer you use is upfront with the emergency roof repair costs.
